Dream Catchers

Dream Catchers

Beautiful Works of Art also known as Sacred Hoops.

These beautiful works of art, also called “Sacred Hoops” serve a purpose as well. They are round in shape to represent the circle of life and how forces like the sun and moon travel each day and night across the sky. They are traditionally made with all natural materials and have a woven middle much like the spiders’ web. They have been a tradition of many Native American cultures and trace back to the Ojibwe and Lakota tribes. The main purpose of the dream catcher is to trap all dreams in the night and let the good dreams slide down to the sleeper while the bad dreams are caught in the web and at first light dissipate.

A good place to put a dream catcher is above the bed where your loved ones sleep, and where the morning sun can hit it. The dream catcher is a maternal keepsake used as a means to mystically protect children and families from afar. This artform was passed down generations mother to daughter and have a deep-rooted meaning to the lands that we call home.
